Carla is named after Carla Farreny Jimenez, one of the creators of Aléas.
A largely self-taught trapeze artist, she did not attend a traditional circus school. Her approach to suspension stands apart.

The subtitle of the show could have been “Carla tests the incongruousness of being suspended by her arms”. But I left it at “Carla”.
Sometimes you aim high. That’s when you have to rise to the challenge.
Here, Carla has to achieve her goal heroically and take the audience with her to the pinnacle of her art.

She sets to and suspends her young solitude, surprised and open.
Later, she recognises her luck at not being alone.

Here again, I seek constraints: a small space and a fine wire, height requires absolute attentiveness and creates suspense in all senses.

This is all about:
- Condensing to vitalise
- Constraining to unleash power
- Reducing to densify
